INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
TRAINING NAME: ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
ADMISION CONDITIONS
To apply for Environmental Engineering, you need to prepare yourself with an interest in basic science subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition, English is also a necessity for you to reach good opportunities in study and career.
The curriculum is designed to provide choice and flexibility while ensuring students develop the right skills with a strong scientific background. The training program consists of 2 parts (elective and compulsory), allowing students to focus on the modules that interest them such as engineering, management and ecological sciences.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
General objectives:
- The training program of Environmental Engineering equips learners with basic knowledge about the properties of water, air, and solid waste; in-depth knowledge on natural and artificial treatment methods of polluting components of water, air and solid waste in order to build treatment and management systems suitable for each context.
- Training learners with political and ethical qualities, with solid foundational and professional knowledge to meet the needs of society.
Specific objectives:
- Forming a solid foundation of general education knowledge and basic knowledge of Environmental Engineering.
- Proficient use of self-study skills, problem solving skills in basic research in Environmental Engineering.
- Research, calculate and design environment treatment facilities suitable to circumstance need based on professional knowledge.
- Be able to use professional skills and creative thinking in research, design, and operation of waste treatment and resource recycling systems.
- Effective communication, organization, leadership and teamwork. Capable of grasping social needs, well performing social responsibilities and professional ethics
OUTCOME STANDARD
1. Applying basic knowledge of atmospheric, soil and water environment into Environmental Engineering.
2. Applying knowledge in collecting data and analyzing impacting factors.
3. Applying and analyzing material transforming reactions in the environment.
4. Applying skills in waste treatment.
5. Understand and be able to apply law, regulation, and standards in environmental and resource management.
6. Be able to explain event and phenomenon occurring in the environment.
7. Effective communication.
8. Proficient use of English.
9. Applying research skills on issues related to waste treatment in the environment.
10. Applying skills on computing, designing experimental models and piloting models to choose optimal parameters.
11. Applying skills in operating waste treatment systems in reality.
12. Applying knowledge of environmental laws and policies to waste treatment works.
13. Emphasize on social responsibility.
14. Emphasize on responsibility for the environment and resources.
15. Compliance in communication and behavior.
16. Be respectful to everyone.
